My top love language is Quality Time. In today’s fast-paced and tech-drenched world, there is something very special about spending time with people one-on-one, where we can give each other our full attention. I love teaching privately, where I can give my full self to helping musicians reach their goals, and I can tailor my instruction exactly to what each student needs.

I’ve been a private lessons instructor for fifteen years and I hold a Masters in Education. I love helping students of all ages and ability levels reach their musical goals. I draw from my performing and recording career to give students real-life instruction and coaching about what really works on the bandstand and in the studio. From my students:

“I’m so grateful for my guitar teacher Nick, who has done an incredible job making lessons accessible and fun. I’ve grown a lot as a player. Thanks Nick!” - Elizabeth H.

“It has truly been a great pleasure and a privilege to learn from you. The experience was always amazing and the only music lessons of my life that I looked forward to. I am very glad to have had the opportunity to take lessons from you, and your guidance and wisdom over the years. You inspire me and I will continue to progress with the instrument because of that.”
- Owen J.

Rates & scheduling:

I teach a few days a week at Twin Town Guitars in south Minneapolis. Students at Twin Town sign up for weekly lessons in monthly packages. I offer piano and guitar for $35 per 30min lesson (moving to $40 beginning Jan. 1, 2026).

I also make home visits on an individual appointment basis (rather than recurring): $85/hour, jazz piano only.
